The Haus Edit
Privacy Policy
1. Scope and developer
This Privacy Policy describes how REPLACE_WITH_LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME, doing business as Haus of Zimmerman ("Haus of Zimmerman," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information in connection with The Haus Edit iOS application, its beta program, and the related support pages identified in this policy.
The current beta is designed to work without an account for The Haus Edit. Based on the current app configuration supplied for this policy, project information is stored locally on the user's Apple device and is not transmitted to a Haus of Zimmerman project-storage server.
2. Information processed on the device
Depending on how the user uses the app, The Haus Edit may process locally:
- Camera and compatible room-scan information used to create a room representation.
- Room measurements, walls, doors, openings, and other architectural details entered or reviewed by the user.
- Project names, room names, notes, existing-furniture decisions, and proposed-product information.
- Product dimensions, brands, prices, links, notes, positions, and related planning details entered by the user.
- 2D layouts, rotatable 3D layouts, saved layout options, project standards, clash-analysis results, and PDF reports.
This information may describe a home or other property. Users should avoid entering access codes, alarm details, precise security-system information, or other sensitive property-security information.
3. Information collected by Haus of Zimmerman
The current app beta does not require an app account and, based on the supplied configuration, does not send project contents to Haus of Zimmerman for cloud storage. Haus of Zimmerman may receive information only when a user intentionally contacts us or sends material to us.
Support or beta communications may include:
- Name and email address.
- App version, iOS version, and device model supplied by the user.
- The user's description of an issue, expected result, and reproduction steps.
- Screenshots, exported PDFs, or other files the user chooses to provide.
- Any other information the user voluntarily includes in the message.
We use this information to respond to requests, troubleshoot the app, evaluate beta feedback, improve the product, maintain records, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Camera and device permissions
Camera access is requested to support room scanning on compatible devices. Users can deny or change camera permission in iOS Settings. Manual measurement features may remain available without camera access, subject to the current app build and device compatibility.
5. Local storage, backups, and sharing
Current beta project information is stored in the app's local storage on the user's device. Deleting a project, clearing local app data where that control is available, or deleting the app may remove information from the device. Apple backup and restoration settings may affect whether copies can be restored. Haus of Zimmerman does not control Apple's backup systems.
When a user exports or shares a PDF, opens a product link, sends an email, or chooses another destination through an Apple share sheet, the selected recipient, app, website, or service handles that information under its own terms and privacy practices.
6. Apple, TestFlight, and App Store processing
Apple may process installation, purchase, TestFlight, crash, diagnostic, usage, account, or feedback information under Apple's own policies and user settings. Apple acts independently for those services. The Haus Edit does not control Apple's data practices.
7. Website and support-service providers
The Haus Edit pages are hosted as part of the Haus of Zimmerman Squarespace website. Squarespace, email providers, and any support-form storage selected by Haus of Zimmerman may process technical website information or support submissions to provide their services. If a Squarespace Form Block, analytics service, cookie tool, or additional provider is enabled, this policy must be updated to describe the actual configuration before launch.
8. Disclosure of information
We may disclose information we receive through support or beta communications:
- To service providers that help host the website, deliver email, store support submissions, or maintain the app.
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request.
- To protect rights, safety, security, users, the public, or the app.
- In connection with a business transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
- With the user's direction or consent.
The current beta does not use advertising tracking and Haus of Zimmerman does not sell app project information. This statement must be revisited if the app's business model, SDKs, or data flows change.
9. Retention and deletion
Local app project information remains on the device until the user deletes it, deletes the app, or the device/app storage is otherwise changed, subject to Apple backup and restoration behavior.
We retain support and beta communications only as long as reasonably necessary for support, product improvement, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, security, and legal obligations. Users may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us, although some information may be retained when required or permitted by law.
See The Haus Edit Privacy Choices for practical instructions.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information we handle. No device, storage method, email system, or internet transmission is completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their device, passcode, backups, and shared reports.
11. Children's privacy
The Haus Edit is intended as a room-planning tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children through the app. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information to us through support channels.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, website, laws, or data practices change. The policy must be reviewed before adding accounts, cloud storage, analytics, collaboration, payments, advertising, third-party SDKs, or other data processing. The effective date will be updated when a revised policy is published.
